Our Story

Picture
A friendly outcast that we all know
We are wolf inside.
So here it goes.

3-9-10

We all hid in a large field with lush grass and tons of trees. I practiced fighting and hunting moves with Moparo and Leava. Taki was gone for the day, along with all of the males.
During training, we all took turns being the opponent or the victim.
When I rough housed with Moparo, Leava came over and put me into a threatening throat grip. I growled ferociously, for I was the boss. I struggled free and looked her hard in the eyes.
Dominance.
Leava will always want to be alpha, for she is the Beta female.
She looked away, and found a new spot to cool down.
Taki came back and rested with Moparo and I in a small dip in the land.

We rested.
I decided (with my mate) that this clearing would be our home site until Summer.

3-10-10

We all split up that day.
I went one way with Vato, and everyone else the other.
You must understand, that we are a pack made up of many complicated wolves.
So we need to get away from each other sometimes.
Vatoki and I went and did the five point pattern to the sky, asking for a good elk season.
No one joined us.
I whimpered over my loss of loyal pack-mates, and went to teach Saba hunting skills.

3-11-10

Moparo and Taki went away to hunt, and Leava is mad.
She doubts my loyalties, and my leadership.
If I put her back in line she will never forgive me.

I played a game with two other male lone wolves.
Very interesting. But none of the other Forest pack joined in, except Leava.

She taught me how to trap lemmings with only my paws.
An old dog can learn new tricks.
I think she still wants to be Alpha.
And I do not want to disappoint her. She is as close as any sister I've ever known.
And she will one day, but for now she must except her place.
Or else...

Bekao got into a fight with an old friend. She is wounded, and needs to heal.

3-12-10

Short day.
Chased rogue off our territory, with Leava.
I'm starting to think, if Leava wants to be Alpha so bad, than she should start her own pack.
I mean, it's only fair.
Right?

3-13-10

All of my females went on a two-day hunting expedition.
Except Bekao. She needs to stay calm until her wound heals.
Too many wolves means too many dogs who want to be boss...!
Who will have to go?
Vatoki will have to chase someone soon.

3-14/15-10

These two days we weren't up to much.
Besides the fact that we all caught a new born elk!
Food!

3-16-10

I knew something was up with Leava. I knew it!
Today she announced that she was in love, and brought a handsome young male to the pack.
Of course we welcomed him warmly, what else could we do?
He accepted our pledge, and his new name, Ovan.
I think having a mate around will keep Leava calm for a little while.
But if she gets out of line, thinking she is allowed to have pups...!

3-17-10

My females came back
With a good share of elk calf.
We moved to a different den location.
So much for staying put.

3-18-10

We found a group of large coyotes on our territory.
The outcast that we all know and love was with them.
Before we could chase them off properly, he did his devil work.
He convinced us that they could be useful.
I don't know why I agreed, but I did.
On the other hand, I knew I could trust this guy.
Stuck with three coyotes.

3-19-10

End of the seven day fast.
Not really, it didn't really happen because we all ate anyway so...
The outcast stayed for a while. He taught us some things.
We are all settling in to our new den.
When we got there, Vatoki said," You know this could be the place..."
I know he meant it was a perfect place for pups.
One thing about Vatoki that you don't know, he just wants me to rear a litter of pups.
His pups.
I promised him I would, but how can I add more wolves to look after,
when we have so many?
If I don't give in soon, he'll breed Bekao!

3-20-10

Outcast is gone.
We all got to hunt a nice weak doe together before he left.
The down of today, we saw two humans riding horses on our territory.
Vatoki begged me to let him chase them off, but we didn't know if the were armed.
So we all hid like cowards, and waited for the pale, two-legged creatures to ride away on their tame animals.

3-21-10

We past an injured wolf cub. Twisted paw.
Bekao tried to help it, but it bit her.
It's infected, jeez.
I mean, if the pup wanted to be helped, it would have tried a little harder to survive.
Right?
Well, we left it there anyway.
"Anyone have a problem with that?!" I barked.
No one answered.

3-22-10

I went off with Leava for a day.
I needed to cool off with my best girl.
I just told her everything that I had to put up with lately.
Like Vatoki.
He kept pestering me, and, well... sigh, he is just plain annoying!
"Leava laughed in my face." I said afterward.
I asked her about Ovan.
"Perfect. Everything's perfect." She boasted friendly.
We caught some coyotes on the west side of our new turf, and on my command we finished them.
It was a good day.

3-23-10

I know wolves are supposed to forget their parents after they start their own pack.
But I didn't.
So today I brought everyone on a 5 mile trot to my mother's territory.
The pack thought it weird, but she greeted us warmly.
As soon as we got to the main den, everyone loosened up.
My mom and her mate gave everyone permission to hunt.
After that I didn't see much of them. :)
Vatoki, Leava and I finally wished her a marvelous birthday.
"Je teme Maman!" -Ta puce

3-24-10

We spent this day getting home, since everyone insisted on spending the night.
Long and tiring jog back, because Leava set the pace!

3-25-10

Picture
I haven't told you, but every Thursday, we do a border patrol.
I sent my girls on it, while I sent the males hunting.
I followed the patrol, to see if they were on their guard.
I surprised them all, and managed to get away without a scratch.
I would kill them for that.
I waited for them at a little, cold creek, and when they came,
they got a good-natured lecture.
We spent the day at the creek to the left, and tried to mark it as our own.
Fortunately, one of our nearby Allies own it so we will bargain for it soon.

3-26-10

Nothing happened today.
I had been working the pack hard, and they deserve a break.
So after breakfast(rabbit), I showed the males the creek from yesterday.
We spent the day there.

3-27-10

Again we saw humans on horses on our territory.
Bekao's leg caught on a rose thorn and she almost gave away our position.
Close call.

3-28-10

Today Vatoki and I visited some old friends in a large territory.
Our purpose was to trade a herd of deer for some of their land.
They agreed eagerly, and by nightfall, we owned the little creek officially.

3-30-10

Nothing really happened.
Taki caught most of the food,
and Moparo learned to fish.
Ovan and Leava went on a day off.
I work them hard. Haha.
Everyone was lazy and relaxed.

3-31-10

Today was the first day of the wolf gather.
Pretty much all of the packs in the area came together at a huge pond in the center of the wilderness.
Everyone talked and hunted together, and Forest pack had a blast.
The younger wolves like Moparo went off and explored with other pups.
It was very funny to see like four pups swimming to a tiny island on the pond!
An adult had to go and fetch them!
The only down part was that the whole thing only lasts two days.

4-1-10

It was the second and last day of the wolf gather.
Wolves began to wish each other good hunting and saying goodbye.
While the pups played like there was no tomorrow!
When one elder noticed (through all the excitement) that the sun was setting,
we all sang together the song of the moon. A beautiful lullaby that one.
We all slept together under a low weeping willow.
One on top of another.
Very peaceful.

4-2-10

Not a good day.
Woke up on the wrong side of the den... didn't feel great.
Plus I had to lead everyone back home... uhg!

4-3-10

It was a day to be together.
Most beautiful day of the year so far.
We followed an old elk through a river, and drowned him.
It was an amazing day to die.
We feasted on him and brought his bones back to the creek and hid them behind the waterfall.
Then we ran all the way down the river until it reached the pond.
Everyone swam including Bekao, the mellow one.
We all had a blast,
and when night fell we spent an hour singing in the best voice I have heard since my father.
He had a majestic howl.
Good day.

4-4-10

Picture
Surprised six small gardner snakes.
I lived to regret it at least.

4-5-10

Picture
Sent everyone on a quest.
Find a rabbit hole.
My pack hasn't tasted rabbit in... a long time.
So I sent everyone out,
and guess what!?
Everyone found one!
There are at least 5 rabbit holes around our den!
Happy bellies.

4-6-10

Training session.
Success with Moparo and Taki.

4-7-10

We all traveled to a small, local arena, where wolves go and train.
After yesterday, I was sure that Taki was the fastest wolf in the clan.
So I put her in the advanced group, with other wolves, so they could race.
... Suspense...
She won!
No wonder! No one doubts the Taki!

4-8-10

It rained,
we stayed inside the den.
Cold and wet.

4-9-10

Lazy pack I have.
We all stayed inside while Vatoki and Ovan hunted for us.

4-10-10

Very exciting day.
We had a race, tied between Leava and Taki.
Hunted second calf of the year. (Thank the stars it was good!)
Good day.

4-11-10

We watched a mesmerizing sunrise,
and watched a pulchritudinous sunset.

4-12-10

We have been sighting a strange wolf on our territory.
A young female.
We are on our guard.

4-13-10

New wolf! New wolf alert!
Her name is Fili.
And she is an exciting and rambunctious wolf with a spit fire spirit.
She brought us on a field trip to show us some of the more...
intricate goings-on in our woods.
Very intelligent that one.
New family member!

4-14-10

Picture
We are learning things from Fili.
Many things.
Strange goings-on however...?

4-15-10

Hunted deer.
Plenty of them around.
We left some of it's bones at the den,
but some one is taking them when we are not there...

4-16-10

A human!
We found shoe tracks near our den this morning!
We are moving to the cave on the other side of the falls.
Maybe we will be safe there...

4-17-10

The human was at the old den again.
He looked and touched where we slept and where we ate.
He picked up the bones of the carcasses we left behind.
He even used a weird black box that made flashing sounds, he would put it right up to his face!
What does he want?
Vatoki and I have decided that we are going to temporarily move out of our territory.
Temporarily!
We will be back with in the next week.
We can go hunt farther west... I have never tasted west prey.
It'll be interesting.

4-18/27-10

We traveled north and hid on the other side of a human fence.
We ate rabbits and squirrels, and sometimes grass.
We drank from a small stream that provided water for the whole area.
Once the five days had passed, Vatoki and I were happy to say we could return home.
It took us two entire days to find the new hiding place,
and two days to find our way back to our territory.
We spent hours remarking our borders,
and making sure that no one would stumble upon us accidentally.
Leava and Taki raced around, hunting every poor defenseless creature in their paths.
We ate well that night, and dreamed of the new days to come.
That the sun will rise tomorrow.

5-1-10/5-10-10

Vatoki started an elk hunting expedition.
He took us all to a former river, (currently dried up)
and we chased some calves around and had a good time.
Moparo played a joke on Taki, so that when she set foot into the temporary camp,
everyone would pounce on her and tumble around.
When Taki did come back, (11:00 pm)
everyone was asleep!

5-11-10

Picture
We came back from the trip and freshly marked our borders again.
Ovan and Leava are happy, as are Vatoki and I.
Taki should be looking for a mate as well.
I am not saying that we would accept another male into the pack but it might do her some good to at-least have a crush on some handsome wolf!
Almost Summer is in the air! The rabbit population has sky rocketed, and we sleep with full bellies.

SO 5-12/6-10 SORRY!

I am so sorry that I haven't written. As a human my pack and I have been quite busy, unable to be ourselves for a while. Please accept this apology. I will try to write as much as I can.

4-28-10/30-10-10

Nothing interesting.
Leava and Taki raced, and Leava won by tripping over the finishing line after attempting to
trip Taki!
Funny, funny, funny!

6-7-10

Picture
I have news.
I was proposing an alliance with a neighboring pack,
when they attempted to kill me.
Leava, if you are reading this, they hold their heads high in the air,
so high that they treasure reputation over life, and the precious things it has to offer.
Like friends.
They made believe to rip me to shreds, destroying me bit by bit.
But the reason they couldn't kill me, was that their cruelty wasn't the response to my mistakes.
It was out of pure denial.
I stayed alive, because I believed with all of my being, that I was loved, that their feeling of hate and murder was just a way to show their jealousy.
A way to let out their problems. So I let them "kill" me.
Just to help them settle their problem with me.
I also didn't die, because I saw their fancy words and thought,
"Why would they spend so much energy to destroy me with long words?"
"Why were they set to kill me?"
I did nothing to offend them, only proposed an alliance.
And with that I realized something that I hope my pack already knows.
Most people don't know that true meaning of being a "wolf".
Maybe they think it's fun, or cute.
But to me it means to be pure of heart, brave and true.
It means to have a loving pack that is forever there for you.

It means not to destroy all that offends you. It means to learn to live freely of heart and soul.
I do not think that this pack knew this, so I am forever sympathetic to them.
My sympathy, dear pack that I encountered, I hope you learn this soon.

SO 6-8-10/7-2-10 SORRY!

Again I am thoroughly sorry for not writing! I promise to try harder about writing every day. Maybe I should start a new thing where I make a summary for every week... I'll think on it! Thank you for understanding!

7-2-10

My sister came down with her pack of 19 so we could celebrate her birthday. We swam in the stream and hunted rabbits. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALIX!

7-3-10

Sorry I didn't tell you, but they asked me not to.
Saba and Bekao left to start a pack.
Saba is Bekao's daughter, and Saba found a mate, Ginelai.
Now they started to built up territory about 5 miles west of here.
They left in May.

7-4-10/7-7-10

Nothing much. Leava's birthday on Saturday!
I need her to tell me what she wants for her birthday!! Leava!! Tell me what you want in the comment box. If you don't tell me, I will have to buy you a very random book! =)

Important News!

Leava and I were talking and we decided that our pack needs a new name. Forest Wolf Pack just isn't original enough. I will contact a lot of people to tell them what the new website address will be. Thanks for your cooperation!

7-8/24-10

We have all been extremely busy! Leava and I have some big news. Leava and Ovan are no longer mates. They decided they weren't right for each other and we helped Leava chase him off our territory! Also, a new female has joined the pack, Rosca. She is smart, cunning and quick. Leava knew her as a pup (they've been friends ever since), and I am getting to know her. Also, Moparo has gone to join her brothers new pack. And also, we made a friend named Leovan. Wolves are being filtered by Vatoki and I. Wolves leave and new ones join. (In a singing voice) It's the circle of life!

Important News!

Some wolves that I put on the The Pack page were just wolves that we have encountered in our life time. Like Fili, she is still my loyal friend but she isn't a pack-member. Thanks for understanding!

8-4-10 Important News!

Okay I'll start off slowly... I GOT A YOCHON PUPPY!!Leava is going to kill me for posting this but oh well...
